Become an Attorney Volunteer

When you join ICADV’s Virtual Legal Clinic, you’re part of an elite group of qualified attorneys passionate about helping domestic violence survivors across Illinois. Through one-hour pro-bono video consultations, you’ll help survivors feel empowered and ready to change their circumstances for the better.

How Does it Work?

Once you’re approved and certified through our easy online process, your profile will be matched with the needs of individual domestic abuse survivors. When a survivor requests a consultation with you, you’ll hear from us and we’ll get it set up.

When the time comes for your consultation, just sign in using a computer with a standard webcam. Our online video service makes the connection with the survivor and an ICADV advocate.

Once the consultation has ended, that’s it. You won’t be asked to go to court because the VLC takes advantage of the limited-scope representation allowed in Illinois. Survivors will benefit from your expertise, and you’ll get to move on with your busy schedule. It’s a win-win!
